That Aquarius Full Moon When You Gave Your Old Bullshit Away

This Aquarius full moon wants us to express ourselves from our deepest place.

First, let me apologize. Since I’ve been pretty busy as of late, I don’t have a full horoscope-like post for you this week. However, I did want to write to you all as it is the Aquarius full moon, and I didn’t want it to pass without connecting with everyone. So instead of diving into the depths for each sign, I will share some general words inspired for you all by this full moon.

Last night at a lovely dinner with friends, my boyfriend, The Aquarius, was talking to someone about this full moon. “I think it’s all about being your truest self. Moving through the fears that keep you from expressing your truest self.” And he is right. The Aquarius Full Moon wants us to release our unique, authentic selves out into the world. It doesn’t want us to get caught up in the bullshit of who we think we’re supposed to be, or the roles we play at work or at home. This full moon wants us to express ourselves from our deepest place. But in order to do that, we must know exactly how to get to that deepest place so we can access that true self.

Mining the depths of our selves is tough ass work. Even when we think we’re “going there”, closing our eyes and meditating or journaling to our hearts content, we may still be just going through the motions without actually plummeting into and facing the core of our personal, spiritual questions. We may become aware of our inner challenges without actually moving through and beyond them. Instead, we just let them move in and grow comfortable living in these challenges. And eventually, that becomes all we know, the challenge of trying to be our best self. So how do we bust through and make a real shift that can actually make all this personal work worthwhile?

Playing the ego game will only lead you back to feeling empty again

Well, if you are reading this, on some level, you are on a personal spirit quest. And you must be connected to your spirit quest at every moment. You can’t just do your spirit work and then move on to your rest of the day being caught up in the ego life game that everyone else is playing. Because at this point, you know better, and where others will find triumph in beating someone else out or feeling like number one, you will know better. And playing the ego game will only lead you back to feeling empty again.

Use this full moon time to get in touch with whatever fears and limitations have been holding you back from being the person you dream of becoming. Think on what is keeping you from letting go of lame ways of being that stifle your voice, withhold you from pursuing and/or believing heartily in your dreams, or cause you unnecessary sadness. Whatever these things are, these thoughts or old memories, they don’t own you. So don’t absorb yourself in them. But you must know them before you can release them. You must name them. Meet them. Have a juice with them. And then tell them, “You have no power over me. You have no power over me. You have no power over me.”

You have the power to know you and be you. Others may not like the most powerful you. They will be threatened. And it will be hard. It takes work. But you have it within you to take responsibility for your greatest self. You have it within you to live as your greatest self. And I totally want to meet him or her. You should want that too.

That Cancer New Moon When Pluto Was All the Rage

The Cancer New Moon lands in the midst of all this Pluto business, asking us to begin again from a place of emotional stability and grounded sense of self

Did we all see that Pluto is back? Yes, after being demoted from planet to “dwarf planet” status, Pluto is in the news again thanks to the astonishing photos that have come back from NASA’s New Horizons probe. It has reinvigorated the discussion amongst astronomers and scientists around Pluto and its planetary classification. For me, Pluto never went away. In fact, as an astrologer, one of the first planetary placements I look at in a chart is Pluto. Pluto offers insight into what one’s greatest soul transformation will entail for this lifetime. That’s some heavy shit. We should all know in what area of our lives we are meant to change in the deepest way. It also gives us a sense of the role change will play for us in general. Are you good or bad at change? Will change affect you most in work, relationships, or home? How we relate to change allows us to see how we relate to the ebb and flow of life.

It’s no surprise to me that Pluto is taking center stage, since astrologically speaking, it is incredibly active right now. Pluto, which is currently transiting Capricorn, is directly opposing Mercury and Mars in Cancer. That means we are trying to take steps to actualize ideas that we’ve had brewing in our heads, but it’s a slower, more emotionally connected process. We aren’t just diving in. And that is partly because Cancer slows us down a bit. It wants us to make sure our heart is in every decision. The other part is that Pluto is challenging us to look at life’s bigger picture. Is everything we’re trying to make happen serving our soul’s purpose or are we just trying to appease some ego bullshit? Uranus is also activated in all of this, urging us to approach everything from our own unique perspective. We can’t just go along with whatever everyone else thinks is best, or even approach things from what has been our typical status quo style. Instead, we must make sure to assert our own soulful leanings in all of our actions and be certain that we are steering our own life’s ship.

Define your personal integrity and make sure that everything you do moving forward supports that definition

The Cancer New Moon lands in the midst of all this Pluto business, asking us to begin again from a place of emotional stability and grounded sense of self. Take a deep breath and ask yourself what really matters to you. Define your personal integrity and make sure that everything you do moving forward supports that definition. How have you been asleep in your life? What areas have you been ignoring because you just don’t want to put in the work to change them? Well, with Pluto here, you either need to use this new moon energy to create new habits and start a new cycle sans whatever you know is supposed to be dumped by the wayside right now, or be forced to make the change later. And the forced way is usually never the fun way. So what do you need to be doing to take better care of yourself, and to be making sure that everything you’re trying to make happen right now truly matters to you?

Let’s take a brief look at each of the signs for greater clarity:
