The Full Moon in Pisces 2019

IMG_1454

Are there revelations at hand you need to face in order to move forward?

A strong moment comes for us all in the wee hours of September 14th when there’s a full moon in Pisces. The full moon is a time when the sun and moon oppose, which gives us the chance to release what isn’t serving our personal evolution. The moon will glow brightest with Neptune, the planet of spirituality, right beside it. This amplifies your intuition and sense of magic, giving you a chance to see beyond the mundane and into your soul’s goals. But this could also highlight some circumstances in a way that shows you people or situations that don’t truly support or respect you for your true self.

The best thing to do at this time is to pause a moment and reflect. Take stock of where you’re at on your path. Do you need to make any life adjustments to help better focus you toward your greater goals? Are there revelations at hand you need to face in order to move forward? Maybe something, or someone, isn’t working out and you’re finally able to see that more clearly now. The question is, are you able to release them, knowing that it’s for the ultimate good of your life? Can you have hope that there’s a new, different, and better version of your life that doesn’t include something that, up til now, has been a defining piece of you?

A Gemini Season New Moon, 2019

IMG_1204.JPG

Try to make decisions more from a place of presence and intuition

The Gemini New Moon occurs on Monday, June 3rd and sets the stage for an exciting June. The new moon invites you to take a closer look at the inner conversations you’re having with yourself. Consider how you may be allowing habitual thought patters to take hold of you, to the point where you can’t separate them from your true inner voice. It can become so easy to start identifying with the constant words in your head – the ones that tell you what to do, where to go, and how you should word things in order to achieve a desired outcome from another. But take this time to hit pause and actually listen to the thoughts and beliefs you’ve been identifying with as of late. You may just find that your mind has been running an age’s old tape, one that was put together from a place of insecurity, fear, or lack of belief. And, now that outdated voice is calling the shots and making decisions on behalf of your future.

Now’s the time to use your mind for good. Do your best to become hyper aware of that voice in your head and pay close attention to its messages. Erase the ones that no longer serve your well-being and replace them with words of encouragement. Try to make decisions more from a place of presence and intuition. Ask yourself, does this choice feel good for me? Then, act from there.

Turn toward those who inspire you and support your goals. They may be teachers for you in how to rewire your thought patterns. And connect with those who show up for you during this process. If you’re living from a place of more presence, you make room to notice those around you more, as well as attract new or returning folks also living from that place. That’s the energy you want to be surrounded by right now. The people who have sucked your energy and optimism no longer have a place in your life.

During this new moon, set some new, mental intentions for yourself.

Examples are:

As you lay in bed to go to sleep at night, remember three moments from your day that fill you with gratitude.

Get a daily morning mantra (mine’s “Today is going to an amazing day!”)

Try some mirror affirmations before you finish getting ready in the morning.  Choose an empowering, self-affirming statement to repeat 5-10 times to yourself in the mirror before setting off on your day.

This new moon is really setting the stage for the rest of Gemini season and the transition we’ll be making in the second half of June when we swing into Cancer season. But this June kicks off with Gemini season, and it certainly did not come to play. When the sun’s moving through Gemini, it’s time to place communication and connection at the forefront. With others, for sure, but even more importantly with yourself. Specifically, this month wants you to pay attention to the relationship between your heart and head. How is what you’re feeling helping to guide your decisions? Are you giving more power to analysis than you are to instinct? And how are your choices affecting the bigger picture of where you want to head with the rest of this year, and with your life? Though Gemini is ruled by the mind and likes to get things done, it will be important to give weight to your heart’s desires. That is if you want to actualize the great opportunity for growth and transformation we all have available to us this year.

As we kick off this month, a bunch of planets are having loud, productive conversations with each other. Mercury and Jupiter are in a big old chat with Neptune, which asks you to turn toward stillness and silence when your mind tries to get the best of you. You must head toward making choices for your life that feel good for your well-being, and not toward what is simply sensible. This may involve some big risks, so you have to be clear in order for your gut to have a voice at the table. If you find yourself existing solely in your head, take what I call a “silence time out.” Close your eyes. Breathe and count slowly to ten. And then, just allow the leftover silence to float into your head, even if just for a moment, so you can be reminded that the words in there don’t rule you. In fact, you rule them. So, choose to fill your head with affirmations of personal growth, self-love, and acceptance. That’s how the mind can be a tool instead of your leader.

We are all being called to level up in some way and to take more responsibility for our dreams and goals in 2019

If allowed, thoughts will just talk your fears and doubts and decisions into circles without achieving any results or insights. Most of the time, our thoughts are fueled by doubt or worry. And neither should have a voice when making important life decisions. If you need some more help detaching from those thoughts, go and get some ‘out in the world’ experience and let outer connection fuel your current round of self-inquiry. Get yourself into nature and let it guide you back toward inner harmony. You may also talk to someone trusted about what’s going on so that you can get a new perspective on your situation. Or, just simply turn away from asking your “self” and ask spirit for some guidance. Then, get quiet and keep your eyes wide open to the symbols and signs being shown your way. And really trust them when they show up!

Neptune, the planet that rules all things spirit, is also actively chatting it up with Venus, Saturn, and Pluto at the start of the month, informing more of the greater transformation at hand for this year. In some way, we are all being called to level up in some way and to take more responsibility for our dreams and goals in 2019. As mentioned earlier, consider and perhaps be inspired by those who show up for you around the new moon and the week following. Let your interactions show you whose energy doesn’t mix well with yours and do what you can to create some distance there. There will be others who feel like kin and will remind you that you aren’t alone in the struggle. Those are the ones to partner with in June. Know that a lot of us are out there, deep in the trenches of self-discovery and personal growth with you, so it’s okay to ask for an empathetic hand when you need one. And, they may even have some wisdom, a clue, or a job to share with you.

Let your intuitive self be the ruler of the roost this month

Though June does want you to focus your energy inward more, you can’t help but to collaborate and explore when needed. Again, trust your gut instincts when it comes to the people you encounter and the places you go. I can’t stress enough how important it is right now to let your intuitive self be the ruler of the roost this month. It will be easy to let your mind be the guide. It’s what we have all grown to trust and know, and Gemini thrives in it. But you have to learn to use it for good. And your highest self does not exist in a bubble near your brain. It’s sourced from spirit. Others may think you’re nuts when you’re guided by your inner light because some of your moves just won’t make sense to them. But, trust within yourself is all you truly need. And if you don’t trust a move, by the way, then don’t make it. No one is saying you must change now. Transformation can be slow. Evolution didn’t happen in one night. But you can make some forward motion this month if you challenge yourself to lean optimistically toward your dreams.

In all, don’t be afraid to let the world see the authentic you this month. No one is perfect or has it all figured out. And we all need the help of others to get by. But remember, it starts with the help we give ourselves. Do what you can to use that little voice in your head to send words of loving kindness your way. Look directly into your eyes each and every day and say, “I love you. I got you.” It all starts there.

That Sagittarius Full Moon II, 2016

Our greatest goal is to get in touch with the core of ourselves

Over the weekend, I was at a party and the conversation turned to the full moon, which then led it to turn to me. “So what does it mean, Angel?” Please note that I had probably had a few drinks at this point, but I’m always game to get into some astrology talk. “Well, it’s the second one in Sagittarius, which makes it even more meaningful. It’s all about truth. Deal with your truth or get the fuck off the pot.” Everyone laughed but then someone chimed in, “Isn’t that what they’re always about? Get in touch with your truth?” Someone else exclaimed in agreement. “Yeah, it’s always the same thing.” At the time, I belted out some response about how it’s always about truth because that’s what most people need to hear. Most are not in touch with their truth, which makes life harder for the rest of us. I don’t know if I made much sense at the time, and I agree that it can feel like every spiritual message is about getting in touch with your true self. But that’s for a reason. It’s because it’s true. Our greatest goal is to get in touch with the core of ourselves, and every day offers an opportunity to connect to that personal, inherent truth so that we can actualize our most valuable self.

Sagittarius is the truth seeker, so to have two full moons in that sign means that the universal energy is urging us to release our greatest truths out into the world. That can come in the form of an important relationship conversation, a creative project, or a deep internal realization that we must come to terms with inside our heart, mind, or spirit. Whatever it is isn’t easy. A lot in our lives may feel at odds with each other right now. Our home life may be sparring in some way with our work life. Or our internal self may want to do one thing that our external life isn’t assisting us in achieving. It may just be that the version of us that our past created is trying to give way to a version of us that we want to be now, but for some reason, we are unable to let go of whatever thought pattern, habit, relationship, job, or what have you that is holding us back. The genesis of our struggle isn’t always easy to connect to, but once we dig into the closet that houses all of our crap, we can uncover it and make way to free ourselves to be entirely who we want to be.

The Sagittarius moon wants us to know that the more in touch we are with our truth, the clearer our path will be before us

So yes, I know a lot of this can sound broad and leave you wondering what the hell do I do about all this. But if you really take the time to understand yourself and your inner workings, you can make these general ideas concrete. And you will realize that it’s just not worth wasting time in this life. We really do allow ourselves to be clouded by the shit of our past, whether we know it or not. That is the human way. Our conditioning can keep us paralyzed from moving forward. The Sagittarius moon wants us to know that the more in touch we are with our truth, the clearer our path will be before us.

Here are some closer looks at the signs and how this full moon is affecting them:

That Aquarius Full Moon When You Gave Your Old Bullshit Away

6a0133f538e9e4970b01901ed96471970b-500wi

This Aquarius full moon wants us to express ourselves from our deepest place.

First, let me apologize. Since I’ve been pretty busy as of late, I don’t have a full horoscope-like post for you this week. However, I did want to write to you all as it is the Aquarius full moon, and I didn’t want it to pass without connecting with everyone. So instead of diving into the depths for each sign, I will share some general words inspired for you all by this full moon.

Last night at a lovely dinner with friends, my boyfriend, The Aquarius, was talking to someone about this full moon. “I think it’s all about being your truest self. Moving through the fears that keep you from expressing your truest self.” And he is right. The Aquarius Full Moon wants us to release our unique, authentic selves out into the world. It doesn’t want us to get caught up in the bullshit of who we think we’re supposed to be, or the roles we play at work or at home. This full moon wants us to express ourselves from our deepest place. But in order to do that, we must know exactly how to get to that deepest place so we can access that true self.

Mining the depths of our selves is tough ass work. Even when we think we’re “going there”, closing our eyes and meditating or journaling to our hearts content, we may still be just going through the motions without actually plummeting into and facing the core of our personal, spiritual questions. We may become aware of our inner challenges without actually moving through and beyond them. Instead, we just let them move in and grow comfortable living in these challenges. And eventually, that becomes all we know, the challenge of trying to be our best self. So how do we bust through and make a real shift that can actually make all this personal work worthwhile?

Playing the ego game will only lead you back to feeling empty again

Well, if you are reading this, on some level, you are on a personal spirit quest. And you must be connected to your spirit quest at every moment. You can’t just do your spirit work and then move on to your rest of the day being caught up in the ego life game that everyone else is playing. Because at this point, you know better, and where others will find triumph in beating someone else out or feeling like number one, you will know better. And playing the ego game will only lead you back to feeling empty again.

Use this full moon time to get in touch with whatever fears and limitations have been holding you back from being the person you dream of becoming. Think on what is keeping you from letting go of lame ways of being that stifle your voice, withhold you from pursuing and/or believing heartily in your dreams, or cause you unnecessary sadness. Whatever these things are, these thoughts or old memories, they don’t own you. So don’t absorb yourself in them. But you must know them before you can release them. You must name them. Meet them. Have a juice with them. And then tell them, “You have no power over me. You have no power over me. You have no power over me.”

You have the power to know you and be you. Others may not like the most powerful you. They will be threatened. And it will be hard. It takes work. But you have it within you to take responsibility for your greatest self. You have it within you to live as your greatest self. And I totally want to meet him or her. You should want that too.

A Super Full Moon, and It’s Way Bigger Than You.

images

We are here to affect our lives, but more importantly, the lives of those around us.

It’s a full moon in Aquarius. It’s happening right now. And it’s a Supermoon, which means it’s the closest full moon we’ll physically have to the earth this year. So, the effects of it can be pretty great. And pretty strong. For as the moon affects the ocean’s tides, it also affects the inner tides of our being. And with it being in Aquarius, we have to strive to focus its energy outward. We can’t just sit on it and keep it within. So what is this moon about then?

Well, we’ve moved into a Leo state, which can make us all a bit self-absorbed. And we should be, to a degree. We have ideas, goals, and responsibilities to tackle. Some of us are starting new chapters in various areas of our lives while others of us are closing the door on outdated ways of being. So we have to have some focus on us and what we need. But let’s not lose sight of the fact that we are spiritual beings. That means we can’t get lost in the ideas, goals, and responsibilities to a point that we forget that they are all just experiences we must take on in order to evolve. It’s not about the thing. It’s about what doing the thing has to teach us. And in turn, how it plays into our greater mission. And at the end of the day, our greater mission isn’t just about us. We are here to affect our lives, but more importantly, the lives of those around us.

You are bigger than your life. Don’t ever forget it.

I had the pleasure of spending a recent afternoon with my mom, an Aquarius. And as we sat chowing down on gluten-free empanadas and drinking almond milk lattes (cuz that’s how we roll), my mom told me how she had sparked to a realization. “I am in everyone’s life for a reason. Yours, your father’s, your sisters.”, she told me. “We came together into this life for something that’s not just about me.” Smiling, I agreed. Yes, we aren’t just here to get ours and get out. We are here as messengers to the ones we share our days with, and vice versa. And the Aquarius Full Moon is the perfect time to honor that. And to be in the now of whatever contracts we set up and with whom in this lifetime. And to do so in a way that is still in alignment with that soul mission you know in your gut is yours to master.

What is your soul mission? And how are you working to make it not just about you? Remember, it’s bigger than that. You are bigger than your life. Don’t ever forget it. And upon reading this, do something that honors it.

And now for some greater clarity for each sign, here is some astrology realness:

It’s Time To Shine, Bitches!

photo(19)Living in the shadows can be cold and depressing,

so let’s all get out into the light together and shine, bitches

I recently went to a metaphysical bookshop and saw that there was a woman doing readings there. I felt an urge to do it and it had been a long time since I let someone sit across from me and give me some truth/advice. So I got one. At first, the reading wasn’t giving me all of my life. It felt a little general, and she sort of had me doing most of the work. But once we got into some specific questions, she really did hit on a few things that felt right on for me. More importantly, she just told me some things that regardless, I think I needed to hear. For one thing, she said that I had a problem with shining. “You keep yourself in the shadows so you don’t have to put yourself out there.” It’s true. I know that one of my greatest challenges comes with allowing the spotlight to shine on me. She also said that I had to stop hiding my truth, and that I would be best when I could just allow myself to say what I feel and not be passive aggressive about it. Something I know entirely too much about. “Be you”, she shouted. “People are gonna love you or they’re gonna hate you. So who gives a shit?”

Preach.

People are either going to love you or hate you. You can’t control that. So why go about modulating yourself to the point of submission in hopes that you won’t cause a scene. You will just end up stuck in the shadow of your thoughts, nodding yes or shaking your head no when really you just want to scream. It’s important that each of us be all of ourselves all of the time. Yes, we don’t want to hurt feelings. We don’t want to say something we’ll regret. But there is a thing called tact. It can be helpful when called upon. There is also a thing called indigestion. And when we continuously stifle our truths or our deepest emotions, we can cause ourselves a great indigestion of the soul. And both our spirits and our stomachs will suffer.

We can’t get by with just doing some yoga or watching some Oprah, thinking we are getting deep with ourselves

It’s time to forge a new, deeper relationship with your truer, unique self, and the Aquarius New Moon is here to help you see it through. Yes, you’ve been told before to just let go and be yourself. But do you really know who “yourself” is, or are you just playing along? Maybe you have a job working a 10-6 but really consider yourself an artist. But are you really an “artist”? What does that mean? I classify myself as a writer, but if I were not sitting here before this blog post, would I still be considered one? And how does that relate to the man I am with my family or my man or my best friends? Does it relate? Yes, this is some deeper psycho-spiritual shit, but if we are going to live a life of greater, deeper meaning, then we can’t get by with just doing some yoga or watching some Oprah, thinking we are getting deep with ourselves.

We have to ask ourselves the bigger questions so we can know ourselves in a bigger way. And in turn, we can then BE ourselves in a bigger way. We can better understand the unique definition of our spirit and live accordingly. We can do it loudly and proudly and in a way that feels truly authentic. For if we can’t be our most authentic self, then we are just too busy giving a shit about what others think of us. And let me tell you, living in the shadows can be cold and depressing, so let’s all get out into the light together and shine, bitches.

Let’s shine.

That Full Moon When You Dared to be Different

Embrace your uniqueness to a point that you feel uncomfortable

I was very excited and overwhelmed when I found out that we are having two Aquarius full moons this year.  It’s not usual to have two full moons in the same sign in one year.  But occasionally, the world turns in a way that allows us to catch one at the very beginning and one at the very ending of a sign.  Being that I have a number of Aquarius’s in my life, including my mother and the man who I share my life with, I am pretty familiar with their energy.  It’s quirky, out-of-the-box, inventive, and a bit unpredictable.  In total, this can all translate to being rather exciting or extremely tiring.  Thus, the next month or so will be a bit of both.  I know, we’re all pretty exhausted from Mercury’s little stint in retrograde.  However, this will be a good kind of exhaustion.  It’s the kind of exhaustion that will stem from personal productivity toward an important goal rather than just sheer mental worry and confusion, which is something I’m sure all of us could use a break from right now.  Especially when that worry is built from trying to please everyone around us.

It’s interesting how much stock we all can put into how others perceive us.  We will all make important decisions for our lives based off of what we think other people will think of our choices.  Now that is some tiring shit.  I mean you’re already worrying about what you want.  Then, add the concern of what you think other people will think about what you want, and you’re totally wiped out from the stress of worrying about you and everyone else.  Well, Aquarius doesn’t have time for worry.  It wants you to embrace your uniqueness to a point that you feel uncomfortable.  That way, the thought of how others perceive you will vanish from the equation.  Aquarius simply thrives on being completely different from everyone else.  So with these two full moons, the rest of this summer is all about the need to own that special something we each possess inside.

Give over to the wave of your own crazy sexy coolness

You have to be okay with showing people who you really are.  Some may be shocked by how verbally passionate you seem to suddenly be about an issue or project.  Or they may wonder why you’re now deciding to go back to school or take up a seemingly odd hobby.  But the great thing is that you have no reason to care about what they think.  You are the only one on the path of your internal compass.  You are the only one who has to stand accountable to yourself at the end of the day.  And you are the only one who is in charge of your personal happiness.  So stand in your power and give over to the wave of your own crazy sexy coolness.  If you can, it will wash away the bullshit layer you have allowed others to place on your mind, your heart, and your life.  And from there, you can start the process of coming clean.

So know that this is a two-parter.  Again, we have another Aquarius full moon next month, so you have a lot to release around one aspect of yourself.  So start gently and prepare to get real.  Let’s take a closer look at how all this could work for you:

Full Moon in Virgo. What about it?

Okay.  Full Moon in Virgo.  What about it?

There has been so much talk about the upcoming full moon on March 19th, also known as the “supermoon”.  Apparently, it will be 8 percent closer to the earth than most full moons, so it may appear up to 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual.  Some are speculating that, due to gravitational forces at play, it could also end up causing more environmental catastrophes around the world.  At this point, who can be sure about what the world will bring us and what will be its cause.  I just think that there’s so much pent-up fear and frustration around the recent global events that people are looking for some way to feel in control of what’s to come.  They want something to believe in so they know where to place the blame.  And that’s natural.  We don’t all want to feel at the mercy of some unknown entity, so if we can make anything the moon’s fault, or your mom’s fault, or Britney Spears’s fault, then at least we have a picture to pin on the dart board.  But is that a real solution for the inner anxiety that is guiding our thoughts, actions, and ideas?  Not really.

Uranus in Aries. What about it?

Inspiration comes in the blink of an eye.  It can come from a stunning view of nature, an overheard conversation, or a twinkle in your boyfriend’s eye.  It can surprise and delight.  It can change your life.  Inspiration also shares a similar quality to that of an accident.  They are both sudden occurrences, surprises unforeseen that are able to completely transform the course of one’s existence.  Both force us to be creative with our lives and improvise from that point forward.  We either have to act on our mental impulse to paint that room, buy that car, or eat that chicken OR we have to get to the hospital, clean up that mess, or exchange driver information.  One is usually much more enjoyable than the other, but both offer an opportunity to make a shift in our path.  We also call both of them into our lives on some level.  Have you ever felt like you needed to shake things up, only to have some event occur that forces you to do just that?  However, why wait for something to come along and make us change, when we can read the signposts that are trying to tell us where we need to change?
