Okay.  Venus is conjunct Pluto.  In Capricorn.  What about it?

Pluto is that planet of deep transformation.  He wants us to get down into the depths of ourselves and examine who we are and why we do the things that we do.  Pluto is not going to settle for some surface conversation.  A night out with Pluto is going to take you to that club you’ve always wanted to go to but knew it would mean you weren’t coming home until the sunrise.  And you’re probably not coming back the same person either.  Venus is the complete opposite.  She wants to take you on a nice, relaxing picnic near a lake, where you can eat tiny sandwiches and drink Rose.  She may even want to paint your portrait there.  Or your nails.  It’s a completely different experience.  So what happens when these two energies meet up?  And how does it directly affect you?

It’s no coincidence that you ran into that guy you haven’t seen in years, and he looks better than you remembered.  Get his number!

The two planets combined effects on our lives are dependent on where they’re meeting in our personal chart, yet even if we don’t know that information, we can still gauge some of their union’s general impact.  Venus wants us to relate and Pluto wants us to get serious.  This isn’t a time for any of us to be frivolous.  In fact, it’s a time where all of us, regardless of sign, can make strides in some way with those who mean the most to us.  Have you been trying to have that powerful moment with your partner that will take your relationship to the next level?  Is there an important meeting with your boss on the books that keeps getting pushed back?  Perhaps it’s time to make the future of your career a greater priority.  Maybe it’s time you relate to yourself and get to the heart of the personal transformation that’s been desperately trying to manifest itself in your life.  Do you need to unplug the phone, drop the kids off somewhere, and finally keep that date with your notebook, laptop, or vision board?  What are those harder questions you’ve been afraid to ask yourself?  We all have them.  Now’s the time to ask.

Pretty much everyone is feeling some itch right now.  As my Taurus friend said to me, “I want out of my job so badly right now, I’m crawling out of my skin!”  This is that Plutonian urge to transform from the inside out – and Venus wants to get us in touch with those who can help in making these changes.  It’s no coincidence that you ran into that guy you haven’t seen in years, and he looks better than you remembered.  Get his number!  Take advantage of the serendipity, because it can ultimately help you skip a few steps on the path to your success.  Of course, it’s not all rosy for everyone.  Maybe today has you losing out on that new job you wanted.  That simply means that it’s time to sit and question if that’s the job you really wanted or just thought you did.  You could just be avoiding something deeper, and this supposed mishap is allowing you the opportunity to think things through on a clearer level.  Remember that every obstacle is also a chance to pause and reflect, which only makes that next obstacle easier to stand up against.

Again, your emotions are trying to offer you a gift and there is probably someone in your life delivering it directly to your doorstep.

Given that this astrological event is happening in the sign of Capricorn, those of you who are Caps or have a strong Cap presence in your chart, are feeling the greatest impact.  Capricorns are all about nuts and bolts practicality, so it’s challenging to have such an emotional force coming at you.  Your opposite sign, the Cancer, can handle this with ease.  (In fact, you Cancers and your friends the Scorpio will probably feel a bit more yourselves in the best way from this merging.)  Cancers can adjust to such an overwhelming internal energy, and they instinctually know how to burrow away when necessary.  But you Caps may feel like putting your tools down and calling in sick the rest of the week.  “Why is everyone being so damn difficult”, you may wonder.  In actuality, it may be that you’re just not inclined to deal with people on such a deep level.  So, what do you do?  Well, it may be best to merge with this energy and cut the frustration off at the pass.  Make it a point to pay attention to the people around you and relate to them on an emotional level.  I know, how boring.  How about taking a real test and try relating to yourself?!  It all may open you up to a personal realization that you weren’t even looking for, or it could offer up the answer to that life riddle you’ve been trying to solve.  In fact, if you take advantage of this week’s dynamic energy, you may get some rather impressive movement in some area of your life.  You could get that needed insight or assistance from someone that has you making a clear decision about that home/career/relationship move you’ve been pondering as of late.

The other Earth signs are feeling some of this love given their direct relationship to the Capricorn.  You Taurus and Virgo people are all feeling the need to change too, and your emotions are probably coming out a bit more full throttle than you’re used to.  I say, go with it.  Again, your emotions are trying to offer you a gift and there is probably someone in your life delivering it directly to your doorstep.  So feel free to feel the frustration that this intense experience is offering you, but then  find gratitude in the situation rather than bitterness.  It will make you a stronger individual and could prepare you for the evolution you’re sure to have once you let go and move forward.

Now what about the rest of us?  Well again, we’re all feeling this on some level.  It’s hard to fully know unless you have access to your chart and know in which house it’s directly affecting you.  But generally, we’re all feeling the shift.  For some of you Virgos, Pluto and Venus could be drudging up issues with one of your children or with your own creativity.  This cosmic combo could have you Sag’s dealing with a money situation in a way that is challenging you to be more authoritative.  Know that whatever area of your life that feels challenged right now just needs your full attention and wants to be altered in some way.  Whether today is the greatest day or ends up being a challenging one, Pluto and Venus are going to make sure it’s intense.  So feel free to feel any of the frustration that it offers you, but just make sure that you ultimately find the gratitude too.  That attitude will make you a stronger individual and could prepare you for the personal evolution you’re sure to have once you let go and move forward.  Remember, self-awareness is a gift.
