The Full Moon in Pisces 2019

Are there revelations at hand you need to face in order to move forward?

A strong moment comes for us all in the wee hours of September 14th when there’s a full moon in Pisces. The full moon is a time when the sun and moon oppose, which gives us the chance to release what isn’t serving our personal evolution. The moon will glow brightest with Neptune, the planet of spirituality, right beside it. This amplifies your intuition and sense of magic, giving you a chance to see beyond the mundane and into your soul’s goals. But this could also highlight some circumstances in a way that shows you people or situations that don’t truly support or respect you for your true self.

The best thing to do at this time is to pause a moment and reflect. Take stock of where you’re at on your path. Do you need to make any life adjustments to help better focus you toward your greater goals? Are there revelations at hand you need to face in order to move forward? Maybe something, or someone, isn’t working out and you’re finally able to see that more clearly now. The question is, are you able to release them, knowing that it’s for the ultimate good of your life? Can you have hope that there’s a new, different, and better version of your life that doesn’t include something that, up til now, has been a defining piece of you?

The Taurus New Moon of 2018

This next eight years is about learning to value your authentic self and what you and only you can bring to the table

I was just having lunch with a friend the other day, and we were trading back and forth on all the current craziness of our lives. Because we are the cackling homo-witches that we are, we weren’t just discussing the details but more so the spiritual and emotional ramifications of everything we had swirling around us. “Well girl, we are entering into a new eight-year cycle kicked off by this Taurus new moon, so there’s also all that going on.” His eyes lit up like up diamonds. “Okay. Bury the lead”, he joked. “Tell me what the hell is going on in the cosmos right now because I need to understand and get a grip.” I gave pause, trying to figure out how to best articulate the weight of this upcoming shift.

“For the last eight years, we’ve been pushed to get more inspired by our own creativity. To get in touch with who we want to be and how we want that to come across in the world. But it’s mostly been a lot of ideas. There has been some action based off of those ideas. But it’s mostly been ideas. So, this new cycle has us ready to actually dig in and do the work so that we can manifest these ideas into true, physical form. Make them real in a way that we haven’t been focused enough to do just yet.”

He slowly nodded. “Okay. I feel that”, he whispered as he mentally played back the last eight years of his life like a projector screen on his mind. “I am ready to make some shit happen.”

lets-do-this-shit-happy-monday-yall-20010241

What about you? Are you ready to make some shit happen?

Here we are, at the Taurus new moon which is all about manifesting our ideas around art, beauty, and our own personal stability into being. Whether that rings true for you as a creative project, a home renovation, a step in the direction of your dream career, or a mental revelation that can shift the way you approach the people around you, it’s time to make way for a new beginning and some great change. As mentioned, this new moon is also marked by the end of an eight-year cycle, as the planet Uranus ends its run through Aries and moves into Taurus.

Uranus is the planet that rules inspiration, creativity, and the element of surprise. It manages our connection to our authenticity, so it helps us to engage with our uniqueness. I always say wherever Uranus is in your chart is the area of life where you have to let your rebel heart shine and your freak flag fly. So, for the last eight years, its energy has been coupled with Aries, a fire-driven planet that’s also excited by creative ideas. The two together have allowed us to connect with our passions in a surprising way. They’ve pushed us toward taking risks with our choices and figuring out how to bet on ourselves, that is if we’ve been willing to put confidence into our authentic selves. For some, that’s been easier said than done. Still, we can all take the lessons that we’ve gathered into this next shift with the ability to still gain a greater sense of self-worth.

ae920f31beb43d4150a62d42763d4987

Taurus is the ruler of self-worth and value. This next eight years is about learning to value your authentic self and what you and only you can bring to the table. None of us can stand to get caught up any longer in what everyone else is doing to succeed. That is not your path. You cannot get define your value by how many people like your latest Tweet. And you also cannot drown in a sea of regret. As someone who has recently passed the 40 mark, I’ve taken it as a dare to double down on my dreams instead of letting them go. So what dreams and visions for your life have been percolating in your heart, mind, and soul, but you just haven’t entirely had the guts to take full reign of and magic into being? There is no expiration date on a dream.

I urge you to take this new moon energy as an opportunity to double down on your dreams and get serious about bringing them to fruition. Take on your goals in a way that perhaps you haven’t up to this point and put some real muscle into them. About that routine you’ve been imagining will help you feel better about your life? How about you actually just start that now? Yes, that involves a death to an old habitual style of life but don’t focus on the loss. Focus on the excitement of all the brilliant new goodness you’re calling into your life. This month, lay the foundation for the greater time cycle at play. You can cement some new ways of being that will bear fruit for years to come.

This process will require a greater commitment to self-care. Taking good care of oneself isn’t reserved for certain people. We all need to take a spa day, even if it’s just in your own bathroom with a candle from the corner store. We must nourish and nurture ourselves with loving words and actions. We must also value our connection to our instinctual selves. Let your heart be more of a guide on this journey. Yes, it’s easy to let the trials of the physical world make our decisions for us. But what if we got so in touch with our heart/ourselves, that we in turn trusted ourselves enough to make the right decisions for our lives? Could you imagine, actually just being so bad ass that you didn’t need to waste any time on what other folks thought of you? I am so here for that in my life right now, so I hope you are too.

You are the lead in the movie of your life. Don’t be afraid to act like it.

Singer-Janet-Jackson-to-Receive-Icon-Award-at-2018-Billboard-Music-Awards.

In writing this, I listened to some Janet Jackson, a Taurus who perfectly embodies all of its best qualities. She once said, “Dreams can become a reality when we possess a vision that is characterized by the willingness to work hard, a desire for excellence, and a belief in our right and our responsibility to be equal members of society.” Yes, queen. I feel that.

So, take a note from Janet and possess that vision for your life. And go manifest away.

That Libra New Moon When Your Truth Came Through

e0de6a34d2f39134887a9021faa37cec

“Just be you.” It’s such a spirituality buzz-phrase and concept, the idea of just being “you” in every situation. Some of us have no issue with it. I feel like I have folks in my life who bring the person I know them to be one on one to every situation. But that’s not always the case for myself. So much so that I’ve made it a mission this year to get fully in touch with my authenticity and live it everywhere at all times. But then I do find myself in some work-related environment and there I am again, modulating some aspect of myself, usually related to either my queerness or, funnily enough, my spirituality. I don’t respond to something in the way I would if I was just hanging out with my gays or with my fellow witchy spirit folks. I’m muted. I’m thinking one thing but presenting another, just so I don’t have to get into some deeper conversation or open myself to judgment. Trust, I know that’s my shit and what it’s about, but it’s a tired battle. Because really, at the end of it all, who gives a fuck?

The Libra New Moon is here to offer us a chance to begin again in this quest to be our fully unique selves with those around us. It asks us to ponder if we are able to reveal the most important pieces of ourselves, even just to the ten most important people in our lives. If we can’t do that, then just how “important” are they? Also, our closest relationships are a reflection of the relationship we have with ourselves. So if we don’t feel completely in truth or in balance with those we consider to be our besties, then how are we expected to be in balance within ourselves?

nmlbra1013_zpsbd9e4668

So how are you doing in relationship with your uniqueness? Would you say there are pieces of you that stay hidden or only find their way out in certain situations? Of course, some would argue about boundaries and the need to protect your self in certain areas of life. And I don’t disagree. I don’t need everyone in my life knowing all of my business. But I also shouldn’t feel the need to protect someone else’s feelings as a compromise to my truth.

Libra can be a real people-pleaser energy. It’s about keeping the peace. But in its best form, Libra wants us all to win, including you. So take a look at how you sacrifice your inner self and needs for the sake of other’s happiness. And notice if you’re afraid in some area of your life to rock the boat by speaking some truth about your feelings or desires. Again, I feel you on this.

I’ve been in the closet before and it’s painful. And living in a world where some hate me without even knowing me, simply for who I love, is bullshit. But I can’t allow that to scare me from being all of me. The same goes for my spirituality. I’ve lived through so many years of not wanting to talk about being an astrologer or my connection to spirit out of not being taken seriously in other areas of my life. But fuck those people. I don’t need their acceptance to validate the truth of what I’ve lived and my experience.

Neither do you.

BN-AU690_irape1_G_20131216225117

Let’s take this chance together to not hide or hold back the things within us that make us one hundred percent who we are. The spirit of this is already in the air. It’s in the spirit of the current discussion around sexual harassment and violation. It’s in the spirit of political discussion and standing up for one’s beliefs. The time has come to shift the power dynamics toward our selves and away from others. The time has come to not be quiet about our truth.

Try this. Go back to the idea of the ten most important folks in your life right now. Ask yourself, how much of your authenticity do they know? How are you “in the closet” with them? And does it matter, is it important for you to come clean and shine your heart’s truth out to them? If so, then give it a whirl and push yourself to meet them at the greatest level of you. And if not, then maybe it’s time to shorten that list. It’s all good, because you’re just making room for others to join it who will meet you at the level of your authenticity. And that is what you need right now. It is time to live a life among those who can champion and support your authenticity. It is time to make yourself number one on your list. It is time to love you, all of you. Others will follow.

Happy New Moon in Libra!

That Gemini Full Moon When You Got Out of Your Head And Into Your Life

fullmoongemini

You are the Sun to your life, the greatest life-giving star to everything that creates your own personal Universe

I’ve recently come to the realization that I tend to put myself last, meaning that what I want always gets put behind what I believe other people want of me. I have trained myself to say, “Well let me handle what that other person needs from me since my thing can wait.” What that kind of thinking has fostered is a lifetime of waiting for myself to show up, well, for myself. I’ve constantly shown up for others out of fear of them hating me or being angry at me or not liking me. It’s all the business that comes along with wanting to be loved and accepted. But now, I’ve burst through to a place where I can see that I need to be the center of my world, and everyone else and their needs can orbit around me. Now this isn’t to say that I haven’t been selfish in the past. I have made choices where I had to put myself first. But in hindsight, those choices were made from a place of survival and not self-love. I wasn’t ever really running toward anything but more so running away. And this placed all of my dreams in a pile, one I would be back later to clean up. Thankfully, later is now. Better now than never.

The Gemini Full Moon time creates the space for us all to bring our inner hopes, needs, and questions to the surface so that we can take action on them. We have the opportunity to face whatever internal dialogue of self-doubt versus self-worth it is that we contend with and move through it. We can elevate ourselves from a one-dimensional to a multi-dimensional view of ourselves. We should take this time to grab those dreams, those visionary ideas for our lives that we haven’t given enough validity to and push them into some form of existence. This may be a necessary shift in a relationship or family, or perhaps a conversation that needs to happen around career. Maybe there’s a project that needs to begin or a new field of study that needs attention paid to. Whatever it is that you know in your heart and mind is the thing that will help you connect to your loved self, take some action toward it now.

7485ba9279476a9c7ff63849203ee4cf

You must take stock of your life and see where your own inner conversation has led you. How are you keeping yourself small? Who have you been waiting for to give you permission that you can be who you want to be? You must move into a state of self-being and self-worth where you can feel enabled to accomplish the goals that you believe you could achieve once upon a dream. You have that opportunity. You just need to take responsibility for your growth and accept the abundance that is available to you. Sure, it may look like a terrible road to cross full of challenge and upheaval. But no great race was ever rewarded for not leaving the starting gate.

The key right now is to NOT go it alone. It’s so easy to stay inside the bubble of yourself and toil through your troubles there. You don’t want to seem weak to others. You don’t want friends to think you’re crazy or unhappy. You don’t want anyone to know you feel alone. But making yourself vulnerable to others is the fastest way to understand that you are not alone. And this Gemini Full Moon time wants you to connect with someone other than the critical voice in your head. Jupiter in Libra and Mars in Aquarius are around too, urging you to reach out and give yourself over to others, insecurities and all. Make yourself available to others. Ask for their insight. Gather advice on an issue. Allow their encouragement to enter into your being, to remind you that you are the Sun to your life, the greatest life-giving star to everything that creates your own personal Universe. So you deserve to do all that you feel encouraged and called to do. Yes, this process will make you feel like you have some growing up to do. But you do. We all do, no matter our age or experience. That is called living. So get to it. I’m here for you.

That Aries Full Moon When You Had an Emotional Rebellion

daily-horoscopes

I have always loved astrology.

Ever since my mom introduced me to the horoscopes at the back of the Los Angeles Daily News. But in 1999, on a whim, I took a job at a metaphysical bookshop. On my first day there, the store manager Angelique, a sweet witchy diva, told me that I wouldn’t be behind the counter forever. “You’ll be working here as an astrologer someday.” Yeah, okay lady, I thought to myself. Cut to months later, it’s my 23rd birthday and I’m reluctantly getting a past life reading with a beautiful Brit named Michelle. She was the type of reader who would book up months in advance but she’d had a rare, last minute cancellation and the time had gone to me. Barely minutes into the reading, she had hooked me with extremely personal insights that no one could have just guessed on. Toward the end of the reading, she asked me about my relationship with astrology. I thought back on Angelique’s words. “I like to read my horoscope.” She laughed and said that I should study it. “You’ve been an astrologer many times over. It will come back to you in no time.” I shrugged at the information but figured why not. I quickly dug into my study of the planets and their ancient divination system. Six months later, I was out from behind the counter and working as a full time astrologer. It has been with me since.

Owning my place as an astrologer took a lot of time and courage. It was challenging enough coming out to people as gay, but coming out as an astrologer presented a whole new level of awkward. Sometimes it was easy. People would find it unique or interesting. Of course, they usually wanted to know what I could tell them about them. But there were also times of being joked about or dismissed. So much so, that I abandoned the work for a short time. With time and friendly encouragement, I have come to realize that it has always been a part of me, and that won’t ever change. I certainly don’t claim to know how astrology entirely works, but I do know that it works for me and offers me extremely meaningful connections with the people I have the pleasure of working with on their charts. I also know that if I chose not to own this piece of myself, I would be denying a huge part of me that wants to blossom, whether just based from this lifetime or countless other life times before.

I am an astrologer, and I love it.

The Full Moon in Aries wants us to fully embrace the pieces of ourselves that we may not entirely understand but that make us wholly unique

Aries is all about new beginnings. It’s the first sign of the zodiac. Therefore, it can be a little naïve and blind to reality. But that also means that it isn’t tainted by others’ perceptions of reality. Aries feels free to boldly create the reality it envisions. It can charge forth sometimes without care for others around, but it also hopes to inspire others to follow in its path. Aries has a strong leadership quality, as people are attracted to its tenacity and confidence, but it wants to lead people to their own personal rebellion. With Uranus, the planet of inspiration and uniqueness, joining the moon at this full moon time, it amplifies that Aries boldness. It isn’t the time for your outer personality and inner emotional self to war against each other. The two must embrace and integrate. Your sun (soul) and moon (heart) must dance together during this time, meaning you can’t be one person out in the world and another when alone at home. This separation of you will no longer fly.

This is emotional rebellion time. It’s time to feel your passions, goals, and desires as if for the first time. Fall in love all over again. Push yourself to take risks with how you feel. Commit to each moment in your life with your whole heart. Stop filtering yourself for fear of judgment. Fuck the haters. The haters are just a reflection of your own insecurities. And hell, sometimes the greatest hater to your life is you. So you gotta stop that shit. Use this full moon time to get real deep with yourself and communicate about what is really meaningful to you. Ask yourself, “What do I want to define me and my life moving forward?” Wonder what life could be like if no one was watching. No one was judging or scolding or side-eyeing. Just you, no holds barred. No self-imposed limitations on who you could be, who you could love, what you could accomplish. Now how can you bring that forth into your real world life?

Here are some brief offerings of help, per sign: Continue reading “That Aries Full Moon When You Had an Emotional Rebellion”

That Sagittarius Full Moon II, 2016

Our greatest goal is to get in touch with the core of ourselves

Over the weekend, I was at a party and the conversation turned to the full moon, which then led it to turn to me. “So what does it mean, Angel?” Please note that I had probably had a few drinks at this point, but I’m always game to get into some astrology talk. “Well, it’s the second one in Sagittarius, which makes it even more meaningful. It’s all about truth. Deal with your truth or get the fuck off the pot.” Everyone laughed but then someone chimed in, “Isn’t that what they’re always about? Get in touch with your truth?” Someone else exclaimed in agreement. “Yeah, it’s always the same thing.” At the time, I belted out some response about how it’s always about truth because that’s what most people need to hear. Most are not in touch with their truth, which makes life harder for the rest of us. I don’t know if I made much sense at the time, and I agree that it can feel like every spiritual message is about getting in touch with your true self. But that’s for a reason. It’s because it’s true. Our greatest goal is to get in touch with the core of ourselves, and every day offers an opportunity to connect to that personal, inherent truth so that we can actualize our most valuable self.

Sagittarius is the truth seeker, so to have two full moons in that sign means that the universal energy is urging us to release our greatest truths out into the world. That can come in the form of an important relationship conversation, a creative project, or a deep internal realization that we must come to terms with inside our heart, mind, or spirit. Whatever it is isn’t easy. A lot in our lives may feel at odds with each other right now. Our home life may be sparring in some way with our work life. Or our internal self may want to do one thing that our external life isn’t assisting us in achieving. It may just be that the version of us that our past created is trying to give way to a version of us that we want to be now, but for some reason, we are unable to let go of whatever thought pattern, habit, relationship, job, or what have you that is holding us back. The genesis of our struggle isn’t always easy to connect to, but once we dig into the closet that houses all of our crap, we can uncover it and make way to free ourselves to be entirely who we want to be.

FULL_Moon_Sagittarius

The Sagittarius moon wants us to know that the more in touch we are with our truth, the clearer our path will be before us

So yes, I know a lot of this can sound broad and leave you wondering what the hell do I do about all this. But if you really take the time to understand yourself and your inner workings, you can make these general ideas concrete. And you will realize that it’s just not worth wasting time in this life. We really do allow ourselves to be clouded by the shit of our past, whether we know it or not. That is the human way. Our conditioning can keep us paralyzed from moving forward. The Sagittarius moon wants us to know that the more in touch we are with our truth, the clearer our path will be before us.

Here are some closer looks at the signs and how this full moon is affecting them:

That Full Moon When You Got Real Clear

confused-cat-meme-2

We must be willing to dig into the truth of why we’re feeling so confused

Things just aren’t that clear right now. That’s what happens when Saturn, the planet of restriction and responsibility comes in close contact with Mercury, the ruler of the mind. Personally, I’ve been toiling over some decisions and driving myself to slightly epic points of insanity. Given that this is all occurring in Sagittarius means that it’s all trying to drive me toward a truth of some kind, but with Gemini in the mix, it’s hard to get quiet enough to clear the air. Whenever I sit with a client, I tend to always tell him or her that meditation is key to one’s success. And I always do my best to walk that talk and meditate daily. But even my recent meditations have been overrun with lists of things to do and questions about what’s right or wrong.

Today marks a Gemini full moon, which means it’s possible to connect to our minds in a way that helps us to release some answers to the questions on our thoughts. But we must be willing to dig into the truth of why we’re feeling so confused. Are we letting some fear or insecurity creep into the decision making process, clouding our best judgment and intuition? Or perhaps we’ve assigned some person in our life too much power over how we think or feel, causing our heart’s compass a lack of clarity. Whatever the case, we need to be willing to come to blows with our truest selves and face reality. We know what’s messing up. There just needs to be a willingness to accept what is a possibly a mistake we’ve made.

gemini

This specific full moon time can feel challenging, but it can also be liberating

So how to know the truth? Well first off, trust your gut. You know your fears by now. You know what they sound like and you know what they respond to. If you’re not sure, then let me help. Your fears are usually excited by some need to be accepted by others. They can be enticed by the idea of being “left out” or considered a failure. They thrive on intimacy, and vulnerability. They don’t want you to succeed. Instead, they want you to stay put because it’s safe and free of change. So if you can’t get clear enough to make a strong decision, then take the time to dissect what is going on in your life and ask yourself if you’re being shrouded by some fear-based idea. Get calm and ask yourself what truly feels right and what feels wrong. You will know what makes sense for you. And let everyone else dictate their own lives, not yours.

It’s important to feel your thoughts and think about your feelings in a responsible way. Yes, these are two different things. Feel what you’re saying so that you know that you’re not saying something that can hurt another. If you’re thoughts are causing you pain and you can’t release them in a healthy way, they will only transform into hurtful words toward another. And this is never good, especially during the holidays when family is involved. Also, think about your feelings from an adult point of view. Are you overreacting? Are you being childish? Now is not the time to just react. Make sure your feelings about something or someone aren’t connected to some outdated pain or uncertainty. You may be bummed but it could just be about something that bears no resemblance to your actual reality. It’s just an old thinking pattern that feels ready to be released. So use this full moon time to release it in some constructive way, i.e. writing a letter you don’t need to send, some creative endeavor, or by simply beating a pillow for ten seconds. Um yeah, I do it. And it works.

You Deserve All Good Things... it's true!

This specific full moon time can feel challenging, but it can also be liberating. It can be a time to release your old, “young” ways of thinking that don’t serve you anymore. You need to take responsibility for your thoughts and your feelings. No one is making you feel the way you do. You are simply choosing to respond. And you need to get a grip on how you do so. You deserve to feel good about your choices. You deserve to be confident. You have it within you. So have gratitude for your ability to change and grow, and have a fantastic Thanksgiving.

That Libra New Moon When You Pulled It Together

azftg

Life is too precious to be wasting time on shit that doesn’t make us feel happy

As this comes to print, the Libra New Moon is spreading its energy around, calling upon us all to begin again in some aspect of our lives. The last few weeks have all been a bit of a clusterfuck, shall we say? Mercury was in a hell of a retrograde, causing all of us to reboot in various ways, whether it was in a relationship, a job sitch, or in some inner element of ourselves. I can say for myself that it really wore me down. I felt like I had a minor breakdown every other day (and maybe like two major breakdowns). In all, it was a struggle, as it forced me to reconsider some of my usual ways of being. And with that, came some understandings about things I need to change about myself, and about how I take on my world. What about you? Have you had any sorts of revelations about yourself and the way you take on life over these last few weeks? Well, the Libra New Moon is here to help both you and me integrate the lessons of these past weeks into our daily lives so that we can manifest some necessary evolution for ourselves.

Libra is all about balance. So what areas of your life are out of whack? What parts of you are you ignoring? Hopefully you have taken some stock of what is missing from your life, or at least have felt the inner stirrings that it is time to shake things up a bit. Life is too precious to be wasting time on shit that doesn’t make us feel happy. Sometimes, we end up spending most of our days in jobs or environments that completely deplete us. Well, if there is no way to get entirely out of those situations at this time, then how do you balance them better with activities that you do like? And this goes for relationships, your home life, or any path of study or education. If you are immersed too far into something that isn’t entirely feeding you mind, body, and soul, then you need to teeter back the other direction and work some more joyful elements into your life.

6a0133f538e9e4970b017c327587ab970b-500wi

This Libra New Moon has a lot of work for you to do

Analyze and make a plan. Over the last few weeks, what has caused you the most grief? Where have you been overwhelmed? What have you been craving but haven’t been giving yourself the time to enjoy? Ponder these questions and give yourself some honest answers. Then, make a plan to incorporate the things you’re missing into your life more while detaching yourself from things that are draining you. And yes, obviously the shit that is bringing you down is probably just unnecessary to your life right now, so it should go. But this doesn’t just have to be about ridding yourself of all the bad in exchange for some good. Maybe your job is great but you’re so buried in it that it’s keeping you from enjoying your partner or your family. Or perhaps you are just being plain lazy these days and enjoying lots of taquitos, which can be fulfilling, but you’re pushing aside some creative pursuit that would actually fulfill you a hell of a lot more.

You must find your balance. One key to this is meditation. I prescribe meditation in all of my chart readings with clients now. It is so necessary to taming the mind and seeing through the mental clutter. And meditation doesn’t have to be sitting cross-legged on a pillow for twenty minutes. It can be different for everyone. For some, free writing is meditative. For others, it’s gardening. But the intention is always the same – close your mental space off to wandering though and connect to the present. We cannot fully see what is missing, or what is in abundance, in our lives if we can’t tune in from the present.

be-unique-martin-iovev

You must get still with what your unique spirit wants for you

Another element on the path to balance is finding our unique truth. Sometimes, we tell ourselves that we should be focusing on our family, or our jobs, or our creative pursuits more, but then it’s actually just external pressure masquerading as our internal voice causing us to think this way. We have to make sure that we want isn’t what someone else wants for us. We can try so hard to please others in our lives that we convince ourselves that what they want is what we want too. It’s just easier that way, right? Yeah, until you’re staring in the mirror, crying yourself silly while some old sad ballad plays, wondering how you ended up here. Okay, maybe that’s just me. But seriously, you must get still with what your unique spirit wants for you. And you have to try to honor it in a way that honors your personal integrity and your authentic self. It is easy to lose sight of our authenticity, especially in a society based around fitting in, getting “likes”, etc. Move on from that mentality and ground in to what matters to you. And then move more of that into your life.

This Libra New Moon has a lot of work for you to do. I know, it seems like we just got out of a damn retrograde and here I am offering you more mountains to climb. Well, that’s life. But these should also be much more fun if you approach from a place of joy. Joy for being the kind of person who wants to figure your shit out, who wants to be the best damn you that you can be, and for wanting to try and fearlessly actualize your dreams. Also, there is one more element to Libra, and that is partnership. So you don’t have to do all of this alone. You have people in your life who care for you and want to be a part of your happiness and growth. So connect with them, get their advice or just ask them to lend an ear as you work it all out. And you will work it all out. I have so much faith in you. You should too.

Happy Libra New Moon!

We have been motivated to leave behind old ways of being and to step into a more “grown-up” version of the person we want to be

I was talking to a friend last night, and we were discussing how both us and some of our friends are all feeling in a very similar place right now. It’s as if we’ve come through a larger cycle of transformation and change and we’re ready to “leave school for the real world.” In thinking about it, I realized that, collectively, we have done just that. For the last three years, Saturn has been moving through Scorpio. This three-year period has pushed us to face some of our weaknesses and our fears. It has asked us to move beyond our comfort zone and to try on new aspects of ourselves. We have been motivated to leave behind old ways of being and to step into a more “grown-up” version of the person we want to be. It has not been easy, and it may have left some of us in a place of “What the fuck do I do now?” But know that you’ve moved away from some relationships, work situations, home environments, etc, that just weren’t serving you. And as rough as it has been, it has also been rewarding. And you should feel much more in your power than the you who lived in your life three years ago.

Thankfully, the Aries Full Moon is here to help us culminate this process so that we can charge forth into the next horizon. It wants you to take your first major step into the newness of your current, more “grown-up” life. It’s time to take major advantage of the shift that your life has been creating for you. Take ownership of the positive changes you are instilling into your life. You know that leaving your job or committing to your new man was a challenge to undertake, but how strongly are you taking the reins in writing this next chapter? It’s time to seal the deal and just be the damn change already. Feel connected to your instincts and trust that inner voice to guide you properly. Whatever it is you’re trying to manifest, you have it in you to do so. You just have be the guide. No one else is gonna come along with a map and escort you to some gold. You are the map. Just be present enough to the flow of your life to follow it.

I don’t need to take months to accomplish something when I have today

I know this to be true. Three years ago, I was in a job that felt meaningless to me. I knew it had to change but I didn’t know what the change was going to look like. As soon as I took ownership of the change that needed to occur, life took over. It wasn’t always easy but it was rewarding. And now I step into this next phase with that same sense of belief and excitement. But I also know that I can’t sleep on it. I don’t need to take months to accomplish something when I have today. I was lucky enough to jump into the moving waters before so that I could flow into profound opportunities and glorious personal growth experiences. But now, I must stay present so to navigate the rocks and waves ahead. I must stay present to my journey or else it will overcome me and I will be left, washed up on shore, waiting for another wave to catch me. I must stay present because there is no alternative. And you know this.

And now some further words on each sign:

That Cancer New Moon When Pluto Was All the Rage

The Cancer New Moon lands in the midst of all this Pluto business, asking us to begin again from a place of emotional stability and grounded sense of self

Did we all see that Pluto is back? Yes, after being demoted from planet to “dwarf planet” status, Pluto is in the news again thanks to the astonishing photos that have come back from NASA’s New Horizons probe. It has reinvigorated the discussion amongst astronomers and scientists around Pluto and its planetary classification. For me, Pluto never went away. In fact, as an astrologer, one of the first planetary placements I look at in a chart is Pluto. Pluto offers insight into what one’s greatest soul transformation will entail for this lifetime. That’s some heavy shit. We should all know in what area of our lives we are meant to change in the deepest way. It also gives us a sense of the role change will play for us in general. Are you good or bad at change? Will change affect you most in work, relationships, or home? How we relate to change allows us to see how we relate to the ebb and flow of life.

It’s no surprise to me that Pluto is taking center stage, since astrologically speaking, it is incredibly active right now. Pluto, which is currently transiting Capricorn, is directly opposing Mercury and Mars in Cancer. That means we are trying to take steps to actualize ideas that we’ve had brewing in our heads, but it’s a slower, more emotionally connected process. We aren’t just diving in. And that is partly because Cancer slows us down a bit. It wants us to make sure our heart is in every decision. The other part is that Pluto is challenging us to look at life’s bigger picture. Is everything we’re trying to make happen serving our soul’s purpose or are we just trying to appease some ego bullshit? Uranus is also activated in all of this, urging us to approach everything from our own unique perspective. We can’t just go along with whatever everyone else thinks is best, or even approach things from what has been our typical status quo style. Instead, we must make sure to assert our own soulful leanings in all of our actions and be certain that we are steering our own life’s ship.

Define your personal integrity and make sure that everything you do moving forward supports that definition

The Cancer New Moon lands in the midst of all this Pluto business, asking us to begin again from a place of emotional stability and grounded sense of self. Take a deep breath and ask yourself what really matters to you. Define your personal integrity and make sure that everything you do moving forward supports that definition. How have you been asleep in your life? What areas have you been ignoring because you just don’t want to put in the work to change them? Well, with Pluto here, you either need to use this new moon energy to create new habits and start a new cycle sans whatever you know is supposed to be dumped by the wayside right now, or be forced to make the change later. And the forced way is usually never the fun way. So what do you need to be doing to take better care of yourself, and to be making sure that everything you’re trying to make happen right now truly matters to you?

Let’s take a brief look at each of the signs for greater clarity:
